Alien Ooze (Atari 2600)

Somewhere in the vast depths of space, a mission has gone horribly wrong. The mission started like many that have come before. Explore an unsearched planet for valuable resources. These long term missions were usually husband and wife teams but Holly and Dennis were not married, yet. They would be getting married after returning from this mission. 

The landing on U54381 was uneventful. The life scans came up with nothing more then simple multi-celluar organisms. But there was a huge hit on the mineral analysis in a nearby cave. Dennis brought out the rover and they headed for the cave to see what awaited.

Once inside the cave they disembarked and started running scans going seperate directions to cover more ground. Holly followed a very promising reading and wandered away. Then she saw something move. Her eyes widened. "Uh… what was that?" Grabbing her pistol, she trembled as she crept closer to where she had last seen it. However, all she found was a large green puddle on the ground. "Huh. Must’ve been my imagination." Then, the puddle moved, and formed into a sphere, rolling into her ankles. "What the heck?" She stared down at it. "Well, that’s just weird!" Then her boot started to smoke. Holly ran back to the rover, dropping the pistol. Hiding behind a pile of supplies, she peeked out to see if it was still there. To her horror, she watched the ball of goo grow an appendage, pick up the pistol, and roll towards her.

Holly screamed for Dennis and he appeared next to her and shot the blob several times. All that was left of it was a puddle of non-moving slime. Dennis looked down at Holly and said, "I think we should get out of here". He reached out his hand to help Holly up just as a glob of goo landed on him from above. He stood there for a second before he started screaming, and his body began to dissolve. Holly ran back to the rover as numerous blobs started falling all around her. Slamming the door shut, she jumped into the pilots seat and activated the laser cannon. 

Trapped on a planet in an unknown part of the Galaxy. Fight for your life against the ALIEN OOZE!!
